Connect in three steps

Generate an API key

Sign in to your BrainFlow dashboard, open API Keys, and generate a key named “ChatGPT”. Copy it — you'll only see it once.

Enable Developer Mode and create the app

Developer Mode required: ChatGPT gates custom MCP connectors behind Developer Mode (beta).

  1. Open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings
  2. Enable Developer Mode (beta)
  3. Click “Create app” next to Advanced settings
  4. Enter the BrainFlow connector details:

Auth: No Authentication (the key rides in the URL)

Select BrainFlow and ask

In a new chat, click “... More” in the model selector, choose Developer Mode, then select BrainFlow. Now ask what you'd ask your COO:

“What did we decide, promise, and change this week — and what slipped?”

ChatGPT calls the BrainFlow MCP server and returns a sourced answer with links to the original email threads.

What to ask once connected

“Summarize the marketing team’s exchanges over the last week.”

“Show me unresolved high-priority commitments across all teams.”
